Our funding
Melkbos Care Centre is entirely independent and does not receive government subsidies. Our income comes from our thrift shop, sponsorships, and generous donations.
Our Sponsor-an-Education project provides crucial funding, but the majority of our resources are raised through fundraising initiatives. With even a small contribution, you can help children rise above their circumstances. Every donation supports their education, wellbeing, and personal development.
As a registered Public Benefit Organisation, we submit audited accounts annually, enabling us to provide all donors with a tax certificate for their records.

Ways you can help
MENTORSHIP & SUPPORT
Access to basic resources and opportunities can significantly change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Our programme focuses on bridging these gaps by providing essential support, fostering confidence, and opening doors to future opportunities.
This means we need help in providing the following:
- Stationary/school supplies
- Sanitary ware /toiletries
- Holiday program – caterting for 150 kids over three weeks
- Matric farewell – head to toe
- Internships/applications for university and bursaries

SPONSOR AN EDUCATION
By sponsoring a child’s education, from as little as R250 a month, you help provide daily nutrition, early childhood education, and a safe environment for vulnerable children in our community. Your monthly support helps give a child the foundation they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
